Button Floozie Needlecase swap 2012

This was a online swap for Button Floozies group. This is the one that I recv'd from Laurie the host of this swap. It's all vintage materials and items that were used on this needlecase. I love it. Thank you Laurie!!

This is the one that I sent to DeeDee. I used vintage style black and cream ticking fabric for the cover and I lined it with pink wool felt, I added a pocket for scissors or thread and a page for needles. I used vintage seam binding to tie it closed. It was a lot of fun to create it.

Sneek peek for Kris

Don't want to show too much of Kris' quilt, but this is a good start. Quilting complete, now I have to do the label and the sleeve.

Broken Dishes February 2012 small quilt challenge

It's been a while since I have posted anything on my blog!! Yikes, I need to do a better job at this...
I have joined an online miniature quilt group called A Sentimental Quilter hosted by author Kathleen Tracey. We are going to sew 1 miniature quilt per month for the year. It's been alot of fun and has kept me busy! The January challenge was "Mourning Crosses". It turned out very nicely if I do say so myself. Februarys challenge was "Broken Dishes" and it's a cutie too!!
I have also joined in at Temecula Quilt Co. online blog and we are busy with a special little quilt to commemorate their 5 year anniversary called "Blessings". It's a mystery quilt, 1 block per week and we're supposed to be on our 2 nd block (not) but the beauty of this group is you can work at your own pace and the info is on the blog for the blocks, makes it easy to catch up .
And if thats not enough.... I have recently joined up with Doll Quilters Monthly group and as you guessed, there will be a quilt challenge monthly with suggestions for themes and so on, our first challenge is 3 color and is due in April.
Well I feel that "Fabric Therapy" is much less expensive and sooo much more fun than "Psychotherapy"!!!
Until next time, God Bless.....

Christmas Ornament Swap on Button Floozies

This was my first Christmas ornament swap with Button Floozies. I decided to make a snow girl for my ornament.
I received 3 very nice ornaments from my swap partners.

Terri sent this one, full of goodies, just love the look!

Wendy sent me this one, very nicely done with some wonderful chocolates too!

Susie sent this wonderful dress form ornament, very cute!
Thank all of you for the wonderful ornaments! I have them on my feather tree in the dining room and they are quite cheerful. Thanks to Laurie for hosting this fun swap. I hope to do this again in the future.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Inspire Co. Birthday Shadow Box for Valerie

This shadow box is titled "Birthday in Paris Gypsy Style".  In the top row I used a vintage tart mold to hold the mushroom along with a vintage clown head and I fussy cut a vintage birthday greeting . On the second row is a cake made from a wool felt ball that I put beads on and used a jewelry bezel as the base. The center box holds the "eiffel tower" along with a "french poodle" and a vintage rhinestone moon. the last box holds a crepe paper pkg. with a vintage rhinestone box to adorn it.
The third / bottom row has a vintage spool adorned with another vintage earring and some paper flowers. Of course no birthday is complete without the "balerina" and a bird candle holder who watches over her pearl eggs. The base  has 3 small dominoes that I used for the feet. I am really pleased with the way this one turned out.
